FEATURED PROJECT: Bay Bridge: East Tie In

Thompson Metal Fab, Inc. was selected by Caltrans (owner) for the fabrication of approximately 3,100-Tons of temporary detour steel for the Bay Bridge Project near the Yerba Buena Tunnel. This project was in partnership with the following groups:

TY-Linn (engineer/designer)
CC Myers (Contractor)
NorCal (Detailer)
DCCI (Erector)

By partnering with all disciplines, this project was completed on an extremely ‘fast track’ basis. TMF met or exceeded all schedule requirements while maintaining Caltrans Specifications. The fabricated component parts were then trucked and barge directly from TMF’s facility to jobsite for immediate erection.
