Material requirements for this four-girder bridge project puts it among the most unique completed at Thompson Metal Fab. While the cross-frames were fabricated from a common A709-50 Weathering Steel, the custom girders were made of a less common A1010, a ‘blend’ of stainless steel and mild-carbon.
In total, the Mill Creek Bridge is 34’-6” W x 120’-0” L and weighs 145,000 pounds. This bridge was fully-erected in our shop (as shown) for fit-up and verification purposes. All pieces will be shipped ‘knocked down,’ including each of the full-length girders.
