Priest Rapids Dam Stop Logs
Priest Rapids Dam is located on the Columbia River in Grant and Yakima counties. Thompson Metal Fab supplied stoplogs for the Top Spill Bypass Prototype. In total, there were (15) stop-log sections approximately 9 ft x 6 ft x 40 ft with each section weighing between 60,000 lbs to 65,000 lbs. In addition, there were three pier nose mounting frames and one pier nose structure weighing approximately 40,000 lbs each.
Project Overview
- Large shop space, production efficiency, and quality of manpower allows TMF to adhere to aggressive fabrication schedules for an on-time delivery
- Progressive shop assembly for verification of horizontal and vertical fit
- Pier nose structure shop mounted and functionally tested
- Wasser (3) coat painting system completed at TMF’s in-house coating bay
- 26 truck-loads of Stop Log components
